It will discourage animals and small children from entering the garden.

Trellis fencing is a wonderful garden fencing option if you have plants that spread rapidly. Depending on your budget and your preference, trellis fencing can be made of wrought iron, wood or even durable plastic. Trellis fencing is made from criss-cross material which makes it easy for plants to weave themselves in and out of the openings. At the start of the garden you can place a trellis as a welcoming entrance to the garden. Morning Glories and other flowers will wrap around the trellis.

Depending on the location of your garden, you might only need to fence a portion of it. For example if your garden is between your house and garage, then don't put up fencing by the house or garage, just fence the other two sides. If your garden is out back in an open area, consider giving a unique design to your garden fencing. There's no rule that says you have to fence in a straight line.

Whatever type of garden fencing you choose, you'll be setting your garden apart from the others in the neighborhood. You may also discover that you'll want to spend more time in your garden.

Trellis fencing panels can be a great way to decorate a mundane garden, liven up an existing fence, soften up a wall within your garden or infill decking areas, arbors or pergolas to make them a little bit special. Trellis or lattice fencing is the term given to fence panels constructed from tanalised timber or pressure treated timber lathes in a lattice form work then framed and capped to form a panel.

Often the panels can be easily built to size, if your handy with a saw and hammer, or you can buy panels in standard sizes ready made for fitting wherever you need to decorate your garden. Panels that are ready constructed are often 6ft wide and come in a variety of heights from 1ft through to 6ft allowing you to achieve all sorts of decorative effects in all sorts of scenarios.

The smaller narrow sizes are great for fitting to the top of existing fences to add height and improve the decorative appeal of the fence or are equally useful for screwing to walls to provide a climbing opportunity for creeper plants. Narrow panels can be attached to existing fencing to form cladding for plants to climb or can be used as infills to decking or patio areas, pergolas and arbors. The larger panels can easily be mounted between timber posts to create privacy screens or to divide up your garden into themed areas.

If you go to check out the availability of trellis fence panels at your local garden center you will find you can often get a number of styles of lattice trellis fencing. The most common choices you will have will be to go for a square trellis or a diamond lattice. The diamond lattice is often a little more expensive than the square trellis but this is usually due to the extra work framing the panel as the square trellis is far easier to frame thanks to the right angles, the price is often not hugely different to that of the square trellis.
