Dear Virtual Environment Educational Researchers and advocates,
The American Educational Research Association's annual conference in San Diego is coming up fast and I wanted to connect with you to let you know that we hope to see you for this first and very exciting year of full programming for the Applied Research in Virtual Environments for Learning SIG. Wow - what a lineup we have! While the full AERA program is now up and you can log in with your membership number and see what's on the docket, I've copied the ARVEL program below to entice those of you who might be persuaded to register and join us!
With the quality of the presentations represented here as an indicator of the kind of value that we intend to bring to this burgeoning field, we hope you'll agree that our work in this SIG is both meaningful and significant. Please be sure your membership is in good standing with both AERA and the ARVEL SIG... your full participation is necessary if we are to continue our efforts.
More ARVEL announcements on the horizon.... more quality research, great presentations, a periodic newsletter coming out, an improved web presence, and opportunities for more people to participate in educational research in virtual environments. Thank you for your many efforts to develop and elicit evidence-based practices in these exciting new worlds.
Best,
Jonathon Richter, Ed.D., ARVEL Chair Research Associate, Center for Electronic Studying - University of Oregon; Director, Center for Learning in Virtual Environments 1244 Walnut Drive, Suite 205A Eugene, OR 97403 - 2056
