  Of course, critics are salivating and Boys and Girls is among probably the most eagerly anticipated Boys Names releases on the 12 months. Girls Names Whereas doubtlessly their reside reveals are exhilarating, the free, uncooked vitality that make them so participating won't really translate onto report. Boys and Girls presents an array of properly serviceable and restricted soul-fused Americana but sometimes it veers in the direction of absolutely nothing more than a bland, forgettable pastiche of 70s greats.
  
  Currently well known lead single, globe wearied 'Hold On' is wonderful being a car for Howard's Boys Names spectacular vocal Girls Names assortment. Propelled by a chopping guitar riff, with tough hewn, fuzzy manufacturing top quality and confessional and introspective lyrics, "didn't imagine I'd allow it to be, to twenty two decades old", you'll find it reliable and hearty Southern R&B. 'I Found You', is a feel good, catchy and seasonally appropriate tune; all neat harmonies and rising guitars, likely to be slain over the radio this summer.
  
  The stand-out track is undoubtedly the excellent, anguished Otis Redding-esque, 'You Ain't Boys Names Alone' which sees Howard Girls Names move effortlessly between fragile, vulnerable and raspy whispering to wails brimming with angst. These pieces act as comforting indications that Alabama Shakes can channel the infectious enthusiasm and emotion of their dwell exhibits into four minute bites. It happens to be unfortunate then that the rest with the album is a bit sterile.
  
  Despite the fact that Howard sings everything with gusto even she can't make the often Boys Names pedestrian and tired Girls Names lyrics meaningful and engaging. The musical backing is well constructed and an inoffensive canvas but too often too safe and too neatly contained to be memorable and there's little sense with the experimentation they've been applauded for. Boys and Girls acts as being a nice and polite homage to rock 'n' soul from the 70s but brings little that's fresh. It is enjoyable and probably set to explode this summer but certainly not ground-breaking.
