As you may fully understand, there are multiple different kinds and styles when it comes to one loft race for your attic. So the pigeon must push on it to enter, and then the door swings shut behind them, locking them in. As you can see the pigeon may hesitate while pushing open the entranceway, which will cost energy, time that can't be wasted by a door. So like My partner and i said, it is not the best option for a trap although racing pigeons.

An open door trap is another trap which includes a simple design. This trap has a hinged door that can be set open, shut, or open half way. Subject to what you are deploying it for. This trap enables the pigeons to insert, and go straight into their nest box. It is great, especially for training, therefore works well for racing, but I personally prefer the stall trap.

The sputnik trap could be the last trap I will talk about today. It is way more complex than the others, if you are getting it, it will cost more too. But it does have its advantages. It is much like an all in an individual package. There are different variations in the sputnik trap but most consist of a trap, landing board, some type of aviary. They work well, but if money can be a problem, it might not be the best choice, as it has things you may not need. The trap in itself works well though.

Overall some sort of stall trap works the best for pigeon racing in my view, there is no hesitation when the pigeons into the pitfall. And they are locked in to help you remove the counter easily. It's fairly simple, but effective. But try a couple out, and find out for yourself what you prefer for a racing pigeon loft pitfall!

Pigeon racing is a thriving hobby and sport. It can be found in many, many parts of the world and is a great environment to be within. Yes it can compete, but in my experience, everyone is willing to allow a helping hand on the less experienced pigeon fanciers.

It truly is amazing how these pigeons, will find their way home 100s of miles away, if not more. If we were dropped off that distance, may well take us days, if we even meant it was back. Racing pigeons also do it with incredible speed. It is some remarkable and you will still don't want to manage ones own loft, go visit most of the clubs and watch the pigeons return to their loft during a race.

Pigeon racing is usually a career to some. There can be some major money in certain races, especially in the bigger pigeon clubs. I've heard multiple times that a top prize some where in England it's 20, 000 pounds! Now I realize they can go considerably bigger, or much smaller. I am just saying per race winning that level, which isn't unheard with is fantastic. Now remember there are multiple races throughout every season so big money can be made. Also you can sell pigeons, and equipment as well if you really want to go far with pigeon racing.
