What happens if you do not have enough bandwidth to view cameras remotely? In order to view your cameras remotely you must connect your DVR to a network and set it up to broadcast to the Internet. The trouble is that homeowners often do not have the internet upload speed to support real-time viewing remotely. Businesses don't have as much trouble with this because commercial Internet services are usually faster. Only an experience thief would be able to determine if he is looking at a fake or a real camera. The idea behind the fake camera is to create an illusion of active monitoring which would stop thieves to indulge in criminal activities. A recent survey says that the fake security cameras prove to be effective when one is expected to be covered by security cameras. When the crime rates in a city inevitably rise, cities are strapped for cash and get a higher ratio of fake cameras which is about 2-1 in major metros. Except for the recorded footage provided by the real security system, dummy security systems have proved to be as effective in reducing crimes like the real cameras. Once you get your wireless security system unpacked, you can simply setup your monitor system and mount your cameras to the locations of your choice. Again, this is more ideal for the fastest and easiest install of a security camera system. Most intruders don't expect infrared cameras, especially if they are hidden or disguised well. Often times, infrared can provide details that otherwise would not be recognizable on a regular system. Infrared security cameras can sometime cost a bit more, but are well worth the investment, especially if you can stop an intruder. Installing your first security camera can become a challenge if not planned out. While some security cameras are easy to install and designed for the average home owner, many types of cameras will need a professional install and should not be attempted without a licensed technician. So where are you planning to install the security camera? Will it be outside or inside? Do you want intruders to see the equipment or should it be hidden? Will your security system be installed inside a home or office? Who and what are you protecting? Will your hidden cameras be mobile? These are all valid questions and things to consider. It's not ideal to just go purchase a system and think it is a 2 minute install. In general color CCTV cameras allow for better recognition of people and vehicles and it is considered to be easier on the eyes when viewing. In the past and to some extent these days a color security camera can sacrifice its light sensitivity in comparison to a BW (Black and White) option. As time goes on however CCD manufacturers are improving the design of their chips and making this less and less of an issue. A lot of current surveillance cameras have merged their BW and color capabilities by using an IR cut filter to offer what is known as a true day/night camera. By doing this a security camera will physically remove the IR filter from in front of the CCD chip thus allowing for maximum sensitivity.
