Golfing can be an amazing sport for senior citizens. There are several reasons for this. Number one it does not require strenuous activity. Golf makes a good choice for seniors who want a bit of activity but nothing to severe. With golf comes walking but nothing too crazy. Here are some tips for any senior who is looking into learning how to play golf.

Be sure to wear a hat to block the sun and light, long sleeved clothing to protect you. Drinking lots of water and wearing sunscreen will help protect you from rising temperatures and the relentless sun. The worst thing that could happen is for you to get sun burned or faint from dehydration.

Make sure you take an instructional lesson. Most golfing courses offer them. Some golf resorts offer free lessons for seniors. Take a few lessons to learn the best tips and tricks and you could find yourself landing an elusive hole in one in no time!

Hitting the golf course in the morning is the best way to beat the heat. If you stay out of the heat you will find that you won't be sapped of your energy and the experience will be a more rewarding one. If you don't want to get up early then try golfing at night. Whatever you do, avoid golfing in the heat of the afternoon.

Make sure you get a good set of golf clubs. Cheap sets just won't do well. You get what you pay for. If you have any plans to take up the sport, buying good clubs is important. Spend a little extra money, and you will fair better. Don't buy cheap golf balls either. that will also affect your playing abilities.

Don't ignore the need for good walking shoes as you will spend a lot of time on your feet. Usual tennis shoes won't be able to provide proper support. Invest in good golf or walking shoes and take time when you select them.

Golf can be a slow and relaxing sport and there's no need to rush which makes it a good choice for seniors who want to take things at a slower pace. There is a lot of time for reflective thinking while playing the sport. Upon completing a game of golf you should feel energized and ready go go back for more!
