This past week, I had the opportunity to take all five of my classes to the digital lab in our school. The students experimented with Voki, creating speaking avatars. They explored www.thisissand.com and www.bomomo.com. They were enthralled. Perhaps in the future, we will have more time for experimentation with these new media arts. James Rickard

Students can draw in real-time with others in one of the PaintChats boards or work with a specific artist in one of the collaboration rooms. Upon joining, you will also have the ability to enter the chatroom, usually teeming with life 24 hours a day. A remix aesthetic, the creation of images based on fan animes allows people to creatively imagine a story or situation from the story. The oekaki boards are divided by quality of art and theme (e.g., realism) and thus provides a site for visual culture critique.
