    You must have lots of liquids, often. You need to have plenty of fluids to drink, starting immediately after the cold hits.

    When you aren't sick, you still need liquids. Having plenty of water in your system is imperative for good health, whether you are feeling good or wanting to not get sick. With plenty of water in your system, you will be much healthier, and able to fight off germs, which will keep your from getting colds or the flu. Eight glasses of water, which are 8 ounces, will keep you properly hydrated, when you drink at least that many.

    Get regular checkups from your doctor. Set up an annual physical exam, and remember to go. Try keeping it more often. You could see a doctor, for your family's sake, if you won't do it for yourself. If you really want to stay healthy, a visit to your doctor and dentist, should take place each year at least once.

    Getting regular checkups from your doctor will help you take care of any problems as they come up. Your immune system is the key to better health, and the answer to preventing your body from being overtaken with a cold or the flu.

    Keep your stress levels low. When your life is nothing but high stress, you need to find times every day for relaxation and decompression, not counting when you are asleep. Every area of health, mental, emotional and physical are all affected adversely by stress. A life that is filled with too much stress will be sick more often, because the body is unable to fight it off. Quite often there are illnesses that people get and can't get rid of because of the stress they are under. Everyone needs some time alone to recharge the batteries, to be able to deal with the stresses of life. De-stressing can help your health.

    Once you get sick, there are a lot of things that can be done to make you feel better. It will be much better for you, if you just use prevention methods, and don't get sick. Getting a cold or the flu is almost inevitable, especially during the flu and cold season, unless you take some special precautions revealed in this article.
