Here is a look at what the Cornhuskers will bring to the table on both sides in the ball in 2010, plus my prediction on where they finish the entire year in the Big 12.

Felony: The Cornhuskers retrieve all but two starters about this side of the ball, but there is some concern at the quarterback position. 2009 basic Zac Lee needed offseason knee surgery that forced him or her to miss spring practice. Expect some competition for any starting job from sophomore Cody Green this fall.

With running back the Cornhuskers greet back senior Roy Helu, who rushed for a team best 1, 147 back yards and 10 touchdowns. Additionally they bring back sophomore Rex Burkhead, who ran for 346 back yards and 3 scores for a true freshman.

The Cornhuskers bring back their top three threats at the receiver position, led by seniors Niles Paul and Mike McNeill. The team is hoping to get more production out of jr Brandon Kinnie, who is expected to get a lot more looks this year.

What really has to have Cornhusker's fans excited may be the talent this team has coming back on the offensive line. Senior guards Keith Williams and Marcel Jones are two of the best in the Big 12, and as one this group figures to be the best head coach Bo Pelini has had.

Immunity: The Cornhuskers lose among the best defensive players in each of college football last 12 months in defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, but they also bring back among the best the country has to consider in junior Jared Crick, who will team in place with sophomore Baker Steinkuhler to form another devastating tandem in the centre. They also bring again senior defensive end Pierre Allen, who was third on the team with five sacks previous season.

At linebacker the Cornhuskers bring back senior Eric Hagg, who the coaches believe is ready to have a big period. The key will be the improvements made by sophomores Can Compton and Sean Fisher at this position.

In the secondary the Cornhuskers turn to be very good, especially because they have one with the top corners in the united states in senior Prince Amukamara. Junior Alfonzo Dennard is returning to man the other spot position, but the Cornhuskers will have to replace both starters with safety. It looks as though sophomore PJ Smith and senior DeJon Gomes will be the starters on opening day.

Conjecture - 1st Big 12 To the north: I think the Cornhuskers have the clear advantage in the North which includes a home game against Missouri. Additionally get Texas at home avoiding having to play Oklahoma inside regular season. This team definitely has the talent to win that Big 12 Championship once they get back there in 2010.

Since the 1960's, Nebraska has kept an exceptionally consistent football helmet design. They have always had a very conservative design; they haven't had a flashy or even unusual design, even for a special occasion like some sort of Bowl Game. In 1960, Nebraska had a red helmet with a white stripe and the player's number privately (e. g. 25). In 1961, apparently the powers which be felt that even that design was way too colorful and action-packed and instead chose a white helmet with black numbers privately. This Nebraska football helmet design is all about as plain as you can get for a sports helmet.
