I surf the net Alot, but don't do much bookmarking so I rely alot on my memory to keep track of sites I like. Needless to say, this is somewhat unreliable. I had fun getting together some of my favorite and most used sites, and will absolutely be building up my diigo library in the future!
Bookmarks:
Hulu - this is a great site where you can watch high-quality tv shows and several movies and documentaries for free. http://www.diigo.com/08306 Snagfilms - this is a site that offers hundreds of free documentaries. http://www.diigo.com/08307 Rate Your Music - this is an excellent site for music lovers. It allows users to rate and review albums and create catalogs. http://www.diigo.com/08308 allrecipes - this site has loads of recipes and alot of great features. You can enter ingredients you want to use and it will create a list of dishes you can make with those ingredients. It also allows you to save all recipes you're interested in in your own "recipe box". http://www.diigo.com/0830a

4 Secret Source of Aging - An article I found on msn that's for men, but is probably helpful regardless of gender. http://www.diigo.com/0830c An interesting page about the Black Death: http://www.diigo.com/0830d Listverse - one of my absolute favorite websites, ever! There's so much interesting information on nearly any topic you could think of. It's not exactly a definitive source, but it's entertaining and definitely piques your interest so you can research topics further. http://www.diigo.com/0830g Librarian Avengers - this is a particularly funny (and true!) blog entry. http://www.diigo.com/0830l
Whenever I find a site I like that I know I will come back to regularly, I try to bookmark it. Right now, my Bookmarks Bar is pretty full - but it's organized in a way that makes sense to me (at least I try to keep it that way). Diigo was pretty easy to use. Here's my username URL - http://www.diigo.com/profile/pattijean
I found this blog linked from another site. It has some great recipes accompanied by beautiful photographs of every step in the cooking/baking process. I especially like, though, the author's writing - she's really funny, so it's entertaining to read!
Craftzine http://www.diigo.com/083ix I was wanting to find a good crafting blog, and so just Googled 'craft blogs.' This one came up, and it's great! It has some awesome handmade gift ideas - good with Christmas coming up. You can look through various categories as well as their archives.
Women's Words of Wisdom http://www.diigo.com/083iy I started looking for other sites with quotes, and discovered this one, from the Library of Congress. It features images and quotes from some well-known women from throughout history.
Bartleby http://www.diigo.com/083j3 Great reference site. Has nonfiction and fiction reference sources, along with quotation books and other literature related items. And everything is free!

Diigo is great in organizing and storing helpful webpages/sites. I try to bookmark pages into my favorites but it is time consuming to organize them and I often forget they are there so do not use them anyway. Diigo is a great tool that will help me do my job better.
Bookmarks: I chose some pages that interest me as a teen librarian. Anything I can find regarding teens in the library is extremely helpful as I build new programs and services.
Another site full of resources. Many are focused for younger children yet these can often be adapted or lead to new ideas. http://www.diigo.com/0844b
This is a post from the YALSA blog about teen volunteers. I am trying to start a teen volunteer program at the library and these ideas are helpful. I can also access the rest of the blog for more ideas. http://www.diigo.com/0843i
I am always looking for resources to add to the teen webpage. This site offers a lot of easily accessible information for teens about topics they may be more comfortable researching independently. http://www.diigo.com/0843m
Annotations: I looked for pages and articles that could help me develop a teen volunteer program at the library.
Texas State Library provides a clear outline of its teen volunteer program and even supplies sample forms. http://www.diigo.com/0843s
A great article that can be used when talking to parents but also to help the librarian learn how to best talk to and approach teens about volunteering. http://www.diigo.com/0843w
I like Diigo for its simplicity, but at the same time it's simplicity make me question the usefulness of it. Yes, it is nice to keep bookmarks in one place. However, if you're like me and try to avoid installing toolbars, you end up needing to use the Diigolet, which opens when you want it to via your bookmark toolbar (the only toolbar I use). Anyway; here are some of my links that I use regularly in work and play:
Metacritic: a site that aggregates review scores in order to give an overall consensus view of the movie/music/tv show/video game http://www.diigo.com/0865i

Teen Nick's "The Click": I use this website for one reason, and that is to watch Degrassi: The Next Generation episodes. Degrassi is a Canadian TV show about teens growing up in Toronto. In the beginning the show tried to act more realistic than other teen dramas. In later seasons though, many have criticized the show for becoming more like other teen dramas. http://www.diigo.com/08665

I'm also kind of a fitness nut, so the following two sites are really helpful to me to check out new exercises and see diet reviews: WebMD's Healthy Eating & Diet Center http://www.diigo.com/086qv
I spend a lot of time on the internet at work, searching for answers to various reference questions. When I do have free time, I prefer to read a book or get outside rather than to spend time online. However, these are all sites I visit regularly and having them bookmarked saves me a good deal of time.
Annotations: http://www.diigo.com/087a6 This is my pups website. He's such a good boy and dogster is a really fun site to use. My version of social networking!
http://www.diigo.com/087a8 My husband works for the state, and we are frequent visitors to this site for insurance information and promotional discounts.
http://www.diigo.com/087ab CNN helps feed my news addiction. I also visit it frequently to keep up with national events in order to help patrons with reference questions.
First of all, I want to apologize if the URLs aren't clickable (as I'm writing this message, the addresses aren't showing up in blue). I'm sure if you highlight, copy, and paste the address into the browser, it'll take you to the site I'm referring to. I've also put the name of the website (or article) in the description so the material should be easily found after a simple search.

Because I work in Photoshop all day, I have permission from my boss to watch t.v. shows, as long as I'm working. I utilize Hulu the most because it has a great selection. http://www.diigo.com/087h8
I enjoy visiting snopes.com because I am somewhat of a nerd. I like to look up all the urban legends and find out whether or not they're based on factual events. Then I share what I find out with my family and friends. I also visit the "what's new" tab from time to time to figure out whether or not something I've heard lately is true. http://www.diigo.com/087h9
This site is my go-to procrastination site! Each day on Sporcle.com, 3-4 new quizzes are added; visitors have a certain amount of time to answer the questions in each quiz. Plus, the quiz themes are usually pretty entertaining! http://www.diigo.com/087ha
I frequently visit the ALA website to keep up-to-date on the latest library-related news. http://www.diigo.com/087hf
Annotations:
This article posted on the ALA website is called "School Libraries Shifting to Digital Collections Stimulates Media Interest." Because I want to get a library position centered around digital collections, I found this article to be very interesting. However, I don't like the idea of getting rid of an entire print collection and going fully digital! http://www.diigo.com/087h1
This article, from BBC News and titled "What Happened to Second Life," discusses the plummeting numbers of UK businesses in Second Life. I just thought this article would be interesting to look at since our last fiesta had to do with Second Life. http://www.diigo.com/087hn
This article titled "Early Doorbuster Deals May Make Black Friday Less Frenetic This Year" greeted me when I visited the Indy Star website this morning. I never go out on Black Friday, so I liked how this article was able to point me to where the sales are going on before that awful day! http://www.diigo.com/087ht
This article called "9 Insider Tips to Getting Hired," retrieved from Yahoo's Finance page, provides some pretty insightful tips job seekers can use to increase their chances of finding a job. Because I'm graduating in 6 months, I found this article to be very useful. http://www.diigo.com/087hu
Here are a few of my favorite websites (there is definitely a theme of crafting): http://www.diigo.com/087ki - Martha Stewart... While I'm not a fan of her personally, I have to admit she has great ideas.
http://www.diigo.com/087kj - Craftzine... Their blog has tons of fun craft tutorials, from paper crafts to sewing and even recipes.
http://www.diigo.com/087kk - Dollar Store Crafts...I stumbled upon this website one day, and now I check it all the time for new ideas. The tutorials often link to other craft sites, which means I sit here for hours to get ideas for my next project.
http://www.diigo.com/087kt - CISA Studio (Crazy Indiana Style Artists)... My boyfriend works here, and the studio is amazing. He is in the process of making a web page for the Studio instead of just having a Myspace. Their main concept is street/graffiti art, but they also design packaging (such as the Nuevo Leon tortillas and chips packages) and fine art as well.
Here are some of my annotated webpages:
http://www.diigo.com/087l8 - TruthDig: Arts & Culture. This webpage as a whole tends to be very liberal, but the Arts & Culture section interweaves all aspects of culture.
http://www.diigo.com/087lb - Kurt Halsey is one of my favorite artists. He draws, paints, and creates. I highlighted one of my favorite paintings. His drawings... as cheesy as it sounds... speak to me.
http://www.diigo.com/087lg - What's That Bug? This website/online community is pretty fun... even though it tends to make me paranoid. Did you know there is a bug that looks like a dustball?
http://www.diigo.com/087li - Post Secret. I'm sure mostly everyone has heard about this website or has seen one of the books based on it. My friends and I can sit and look at the entries of secrets that readers send in and cry, laugh, get angry all in one sitting. I think it's an amazing type of emotional release, both for the participants and the viewers.
BOOKMARKS: I set up a Delicious account many months ago to organize my bookmarks. They were getting way out of hand. Since I used internet explorer and Firefox I had missed some and duplicated others between the two sites. Since I recently purchase a new Dell 17 I had to save my bookmarks and clean my old machine. So updating my bookmarks on Delicious was imperative. Now I see that Diigo has just as much to offer if not more. Here are my new bookmarks. http://www.diigo.com/user/lelefthe I went crazy bookmarking Christmas websites. I need to go back and select exactly the ones I want to use and when. Now that I have a new mimio in my classroom to try out I can access these sites on a "smart board" in my own classroom or use the computer lab for my students to access some of these sites. I liked the option of emailing the link to myself or fellow teachers and adding a screen shot of the webpage. I sent a few notes with each site so I would remember specifically caught my eye about the site. We have a huge Christmas Around the world unit that incorporates reading, math, social studies, crafts, cooking and more. We just don't have much technology planned for the unit. I plan to add a little each year.
http://www.diigo.com/087ni - LibraryTechTalk This is a blog that was created by librarians at Towson University and it showcases technology tips and tools that for various areas of the academic library.
http://www.diigo.com/087nn - FlashGallery.com This is a site that sells code for flash galleries at a very reasonable cost. Our library paid around $40 for an xml gallery from this site for our digital library home page, and it is very cool and saved us an enormous amount of time to create one ourselves.
http://www.diigo.com/087nt - Cornell Digital Library Tutorial Cornell University has created this digital library tutorial and this could be very helpful to someone who is new to the digital libraries field.
http://www.diigo.com/087oi - iLibrarian Blog This blog is a nice one to follow for libraries. It shares news and resources on Library 2.0 and the information revolution.
Here are my annotated webpages:
http://www.diigo.com/087oa - LibraryH3lp This website is for the chat reference service, LibraryH3lp, which was created by a group of libraries. This offers a lot of good features for a very reasonable price. I think it is something our library should consider using.
http://www.diigo.com/087oc - MobiSiteGalore This web site allows you to create a mobile web page free by using wizards. I think this could be a great quick way for our library to create mobile web pages for our library.
http://www.diigo.com/087od - Today's BIG Thing This website shows you the most popular videos found on the Internet - new ones get posted daily.
http://www.diigo.com/087ok - Clusty This is a search engine that searches more than one search engine - is this something you have considered?

Cleolinda (http://www.diigo.com/088g0): Snarky humor leashed on many fandoms, including Twilight, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Best known for Movies in Fifteen Minutes and The Secret Life of Dolls (I'm not sure if the annotation worked right on this page, but the links and notes are available at my library).

It was fun to just sit down and play on the internet. I usually don't spend much time just having fun and finding interesting things--I do school work and check my email and that's about it.

This one is for the Indy Mini. I walked it last year, and I plan to register again this year. This site keeps me motivated.
These are my favorite dog sites. We adopted our GSD's in Maryland, so I try to stay in contact with the shelter and support their adoption efforts.

I am a total news junkie, and I am a frequent visitor to the WTHI site.
http://www.diigo.com/0879y
I spend a lot of time on the internet at work, searching for answers to various reference questions. When I do have free time, I prefer to read a book or get outside rather than to spend time online. However, these are all sites I visit regularly and having them bookmarked saves me a good deal of time.

Because I work in Photoshop all day, I have permission from my boss to watch t.v. shows, as long as I'm working. I utilize Hulu the most because it has a great selection.

This site is my go-to procrastination site! Each day on Sporcle.com, 3-4 new quizzes are added; visitors have a certain amount of time to answer the questions in each quiz. Plus, the quiz themes are usually pretty entertaining!

This article titled "Early Doorbuster Deals May Make Black Friday Less Frenetic This Year" greeted me when I visited the Indy Star website this morning. I never go out on Black Friday, so I liked how this article was able to point me to where the sales are going on before that awful day!

This article called "9 Insider Tips to Getting Hired," retrieved from Yahoo's Finance page, provides some pretty insightful tips job seekers can use to increase their chances of finding a job. Because I'm graduating in 6 months, I found this article to be very useful.

http://www.diigo.com/087ki - Martha Stewart...

I set up a Delicious account many months ago to organize my bookmarks.

I went crazy bookmarking Christmas websites.
