PokerStars Bonus Code

In my first entry, I talked about the great things about a PokerStars download. The download provides you with top quality poker software and the player base that comes along with it is matched by no other site. To add to a superb game selection and many ways to customize your playing experience, I also stated that as soon as you make your first deposit and use the PokerStars bonus code, you get your first bonus. With a PokerStars bonus code, the amount you're given is a match of your first deposit, up to $600.

Releasing your bonus is a really simple process. The only thing you have to do is participate in real money games, and you will be earning VIP Player Points (VPP) in the process. This bonus is known as a 17x bonus, meaning you will have to earn 17 times the amount you deposited in VPPs to release it. If, for example, you deposited $300, 17 x $300 = 5100 VPP will be needed to earn the bonus. If the amount deposited is the entire $600, 17 x $600 = 10,200 VPPs will be required to clear the whole thing. The bonus dollars are credited to your account in $10 increments, meaning that every time you earn 170 VPPs, you will have earned a chunk of the bonus. It bears mentioning that points earned in both tournaments and cash games count towards the sign up bonus, so it doesn't matter which you play, you will receive VPPs. The bonus expires in 180 days after you use the PokerStars bonus code, so you will have that as the time limit to collect the required amount of VPPs.

PokerStars bonus clearing speed is entirely dependent on the games played and the stakes at which these games are played. If you decide to play 25NL cash games, clearing this bonus will take you approximately 159,376 hands at Full Ring, and about 110,870 if you prefer to play 6-Max. Notice that these are the approximate maximum playing only the one or the other, and if you mix and match Full Ring and 6-Max games, you will need lower or higher amounts. Raise the stakes to $50 No Limit, the total amounts will drop, becoming a total of 77,273 hands Full Ring or 56,667 hands at 6-Max, and a mix resulting a number in between.

Any other combination will also lead to clearing your bonus, such as playing both cash and tournaments, or playing exclusively MTT poker. A total of 5.50 VPPs will be earned for every $1 you pay in tournament fees. For example, if you play $15+$1 tourneys, you'd have to play about 1,855 tourneys (10,200/5.5 ~ 1,855) to release your entire bonus. Up the buy-in to $25+$2, and it would take half as many to earn it. As already explained, these are the absolute extremes in any one category of games you could play; other combinations of game types and stakes will give different VPPs.

You can't really go by these examples exactly because everyone plays a different mix of games. But we've shown one thing for sure and that is that the amount of play required to release the bonus lowers if the stakes are increased and goes up if the stakes are decreased. Even if you're playing your poker hands at low stakes, though, as long as you grind at a steady pace, you shouldn't have any problems.
