Saitek Pro Flight Backlit Information Panel: Compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator X the Pro Flight Backlit Information Panel offers users with clear and authentic info throughout flight.

In addition, customers can assign a option of three colors to each of the 24 segments, allowing different command tiles to light up with various colors during flight.

The BIP comes well-packaged. The instruction manual states to place within the install disk, though none were included in my package. Nevertheless, I downloaded the 64-bit drivers from the Saitek web site without problems. The BIP comes with 24 buttons pre-loaded in to the face of the panel, with an additional 27 buttons inside a separate box.

Merely pull off the faceplace and insert the buttons you would like, in whatever order you select. The BIP had an easy drag-n-drop user interface where you can change out the order and position of the buttons on-screen to match where you placed the buttons on the actual panel.

Nicely built and well packaged, it was simple to set up for my system. The only problem was the face panel was held on magnetically which the manual did say.. I was a bit chicken to help keep pulling on it for fear of breaking it. It does come off as described. Just took me a minute to work up the nerve and "roll it" off from the bottom. The lenses had been ultra simple to change and I set it up in a logical way for my twin turboprop layout.

Lights are perfectly lit as far as brightness goes and also the appear and functionality is fantastic. The setup enables for "profiles" which could be handy for those who fly fixed wing and rotors.

Initial flight was thrilling as I tested all the functions and their corresponding information lights. 100% as advertised...wow

You receive the Panel in a very good package that cannot get the panel damaged in route. Complete directions along with a small cd gets it functioning in minutes.

Once you use this panel you will never be without it. My cockpit is a lot much better now. Don't hesitate to get 1 although it's a little bit high on price.

I purchased this item on a whim - just thinking it could be fantastic if certain status items had been "in my face" and away from the actual Computer Monitor screen during flight. Sadly, in my case, I do not have sufficient room on my desktop to accommodate an extra item like this, because I also strategy to buy the Mimo Touch-2 7" Touchscreen monitor to use as a Flight Management Pc (FMC) external to my regular Computer monitor throughout flight.

An additional concept, I can use it to display the navigation screen enlarged which is useful when I am flying instruments as I can much better see the runway and waypoints on a larger 7" display rather than having to mouse-click on it to enlarge it inside FSX - which of course blocks my view of OTHER instruments! So this guy is heading back unopened to Amazon.
