STOP KILLING WHALES - 0 views

  • Does it make
you mad to think that your children might grow up in a world without whales, a
world without sharks, a world without Tigers.
  • It is transparently obvious that Japan is killing whales in the name of science
to provide whale meat for Japanese restaurants and supermarkets. However, it was
reported recently that the Japanese peoples appetite for whale meat has
diminished to such a degree that whale meat is now stockpiled and is being used
    in pet food manufacture

Animal "Rights" Versus Human Rights - 0 views

  • None of this is relevant to animals. Animals do not survive by rational thought
  • Only man has the power, guided by a code of morality, to deal with other members
of his own species by voluntary means: rational persuasion. To claim that man's
use of animals is immoral is to claim that we have no right to our own lives and
that we must sacrifice our welfare for the sake of creatures who cannot think or
    grasp the concept of morality

  • Their abilities to think and talk, to form social systems with rights and responsibilities, and to feel emotions are uniquely developed well beyond any other animals.
  • Many other animals are also able to think (to some extent) and are certainly able to feel pain.
  • in 1859 we have known that human beings are related by common descent to all other animals.

Animals live on earth for a long time longer then us, so i think we should let them have rights. Only because we are smarter then them and we can acually understnd eachother it doesn't mean they can't. They should have the same rights as us.
  • but also human infants and mentally handicapped adults will be excluded from basic rights.

I agree with this statement because if non-human is people or creature that can't speak or that can't comunicate with us, it would also include the handicapped adult or children.
  • Cruelty to animals
  • It is perfectly natural to use animals for our own nutrition and pleasure
  • violence and barbarism

Do animals have rights? | Animal Research Questions and Answers | American Physiological So... - 0 views

  • At first, animals were hunted for food, and their skins and bones were used for clothing, shelter and tools. Later, animals were domesticated and used as beasts of burden, for food and clothing, and eventually for many other purposes. Today most of us accept the idea that people — farmers, pet owners, animal breeders, zoo keepers and research scientists — may use animals but are obliged to treat them decently.
