Living Room Furniture As Storage: What Works Best, decorative crochet magazine, Crochet Magazine Back Issues1. Use it as a fire starter

Roll your magazines up tightly securing with some twine. Next time you have a fire, place these in to help start your fire.

    2. Make envelopes

If you have a template you can make a wide range of sizes of envelopes. A simple way to make an envelope is simply to fold the piece of paper up to almost near the top. Glue the sides with a glue stick. Now, when you are ready to use the envelope just add your letter and again use the glue stick to secure the envelope. Envelopes do not necessarily have to mailed either. You can use them as a wrapper for stickers, postcards, artist trading cards or any flat gift item?

    3. Use in a Collage

Cut out all the pictures you admire. You can even cut out various words or letters. Be creative in your cutting. You don't have to stick with plain straight edge scissors. Try using some of the decorative scissors available in the scrap booking aisle.

    4. Packaging

Magazines are perfect for packaging. If you have a paper shredder this is quick and easy. Just add a couple of sheets to the shredder and you have stuffing for your next shipment.

    5. Make Paper Beads

Making beads out of paper is an old school craft. You just need paper, scissors, a toothpick and varnish. Google Paper beads or search you tube for tutorials on the specifics.

    6. Bookmarks

Cut your favorite magazine pages into bookmarks. Use clear shelf liner or a laminate machine to make the paper firmer. Simple, beautiful bookmarks whenever you need a gift or a place holder for your next reading session.

    7. Stickers

I love making stickers out of magazines. All you need is some scissors or scrap booking hole punches in various sizes. After cutting out your stickers make some sticker glue out of vinegar and unflavored gelatin. You can find a simple recipe over at billybear4kids site.

    8. Paper Mache'

Take your magazine pages and just tear them into strips. You can tear them into long or short strips depending on what you need for your project. Use homemade paper Mache' paste to secure your strips onto your object. (balloon, box, or whatever you are covering)

    9. Donate

Donate your old magazines to shelters, doctors offices, hospitals, schools, day care centers, after school programs, park and recreation centers and retirement centers. You may even know someone who is in business for themselves who can use the magazines in an art project or as packaging for their shipments.

    10. Weave or Make a Mosaic

Use strips of paper to make weaved mats or hearts. You can even cut the magazine pages into 1x1 or 2x2 inch squares in a multitude of colors. Use these mini squares to make mosaics. Try cutting the papers into various shapes to create a geometrical shape like a Pentagon or Octagon. How about trying to use the shapes to create a Mandala-Sanskrit for 'circle'?

Expecting a new addition to the family? Do you know someone who is pregnant and you don't know what to get them for a gift? The best gifts are those that are custom made for the baby.
