The opening video played at the inaugural Flat Classroom Conference hosted at Qatar Academy, Doha Qatar in January 2009. It is a review of the beginning and development of flat classroom projects from 2006-2009. The Flat Classroom Project was created by Julie Lindsay and Vicki Davis based on the book by Thomas Friedman "The World is Flat." A fantastic "best practice" example of how Web 2.0 tools can support global collaboration and learning.

What an ideal situation with a facility that supports learning and true collaboration among tech specialists, librarians and teachers. Library is called the "learning hub."

Kathy presented her experiences with technology in her first grade classroom--focus on learning and NOT the technology. All presenters demonstrated how their students use blogs/wikis and other Web 2.0 tools.
