GlogsterEDU's Profile | Glogster EDU - 21st century multimedia tool for educators, teac... - 2 views

  •
Glogsteredu is a free product that allows students to make digital poster instead of classic cardboard. Extremely engaging for students.  Unlike cardboard, the images, words, sound clips, video act as a portal to take the viewing to more information. So if I click on an author's image, might see a video of her talking about a book, or a list of other works, etc.

SynchronEyes Classroom Management 7.0 - Free software downloads and software reviews - ... - 1 views

  • hronEyes classroom management software connects a teacher's computer with every computer in a networked classroom. SynchronEyes software is easy to use and offers a variety of features that enable you to keep students focused on learning and redirect their attention if they go off track. You can communicate, monitor or collaborate with students individually or as a group, so everyone gets the most out of class time. Pricing is per computer lab.

Our school bought this and I always use it when students are on the computers in the Media Center or labs.  I stopped a lot of off-task work, inappropriate surfing, bullying, and even caught a student opening another teacher's grade book. It's an excellent monitory tool.

Intranet, Group Calendar, Small Business Organizer: Backpack - 0 views

  • Share information with your team. Keep your documents, discussions, and schedules in one place all the time.
  •
Backpackit is very helpful for adults managing projects in an organization but it would  also be very helpful for students working on group projects at school.  My school's program emphasizes group projects and work and I recommended this program to our Media Specialist as a possible purchase for next year to help students manage all their work.

NoodleTools : MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian Bibliography Composer, Online Notecards - 2 views

  • NoodleTools provides innovative software that teaches students and supports teachers and librarians throughout the entire research process.

    • Search intelligently
    • Assess the quality of results
    • Record, organize and synthesize information using online notecards
    • Format your bibliography in MLA, APA, or Chicago/Turabian style
  •
The best tool for research on the market whether students are novice or expert, in my opinion. I use it with my 6th grade students  to help them research effectively, take notes, and format bibliographies.  They love it and so do I. Everything is online, no lost notes! When the papers are turned in, I electronically collect the notes cards and all other information online.  Our school just bought access to it.

Donald Clark's blog, Big Dog, Little Dog, caught my eye with its title a reference to the children's book with the same title, but there is nothing childish about this blog. Clark is a learning designer and consultant who put together this e-learning aggregator of cutting-edge, provocative, and useful blog post on the web. In addition to the informative and entertaining posts, he includes a wonderful blog roll worth checking out. Play with the big dogs and check it out.
