    Welcome to Wikipedia,
the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.
  • bcby c

Wikipedia is an online, dynamic encyclopedia, which anyone can add or edit content. One of the exciting things about this site is that history is documented within minutes of an event occurring. Additionally at UCF, faculty members have made assignments asking students to rewrite poorly or sparsely written entries.

Questions have arisen about Wikipedia's accuracy; Henry Jenkins from MIT discussed its uses and validity at the 2008 Annual Meeting for Educause Learning Initiative. To view his lengthy presentation, go to http://tinyurl.com/2cjxrf/ and select the What Wikipedia Can Teach Us About the New Media Literacies topic.
