TweetDeck Twitter Client built on Adobe AIR - 0 views

TweetDeck is a good Twitter tool, but I also like Twhirl. Both run in Adobe AIR. -
This is a Twitter app built in Adobe AIR, and is very good. Can't search in Japanese (or I bet other multi-byte languages), can't block users. I think Twhirl beats this in several respects.
From the site - "TweetDeck enables users to split their main feed (All Tweets) into topic or group specific columns allowing a broader overview of tweets. The default columns can contain All Tweets from your timeline, @replies directed to you and direct messages. The GROUP, SEARCH and REPLIES buttons then allow the user to make up additional columns populated from the live tweet information. Once created these additional columns will automatically update allowing the user to keep track of a twitter threads far easier."

Twautor is a good tool for getting contacts on twitter based on certain keywords, if used sparingly. -
Despite the unpronounceable name and confusing grammar here and there on the interface, Twautor is a useful service that will get you a lot of followers on Twitter in a short period of time, if that is what you are after. It allows you to do several things...
Ping.fm / Update all of your social networks at once! - 0 views

Ping.fm is an interesting social network status updater service. Gotta be careful not to inundate people with your statuses (statii?). It's just spam if you do that. I'm using it selectively to update just a couple services with a specific type of info. THat might be helpful. --Rick Cogley -
Interesting social network status updater service. Gotta be careful not to inundate people with your statuses (statii?). I am using it to update Linked.in and Plaxo statuses, and send work-related updates to my ping.fm special posting email address. -- Rick Cogley
From the site: "We post your messages wherever you want!
That's right, we support over 30 social networking sites and we're adding more regularly.
Between our straight forward posting methods and advanced custom triggers, we make it easy for you to post your messages exactly where you want them to go."

Adobe AIR-based Twitter Client Twhirl is awesome. Cross platform.
From the twhirl website: "twhirl is a social software desktop client, based on the Adobe AIR platform.
Some of twhirl's features:
* runs on both Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Mac OSX
* connects to multiple Twitter, laconi.ca, Friendfeed and seesmic accounts
* notifications on new messages
* shorten long URLs (using snurl, twurl or is.gd)
* cross-post twitter updates to Pownce and Jaiku
* post images to TwitPic
* search tweets using Twitter Search and TweetScan
* timeline filtering
* color schemes
* automatically check for new versions" -
Twhirl is an Adobe AIR-based (and therefore cross platform) "social software client" (read, Twitter client) which is really easy to use and full featured. I would say this will help in collaboration with colleagues and friends. --Rick Cogley
