It sounds like an existing Indian proverb, probably originating which has a master yogi, right? Really, it is just advice for anyone, especially if you're trying to quit smoking. Stress is a common smoking trigger and when we are under pressure our breathing becomes restricted, so we must to make a conscious effort to air more.

My mother, a former smoker, continues to help remind me, so that i can remind others, that when someone lights up some sort of cigarette the immediate restful affect is that deep inhale to be able first puff. Yes, there does exist an immediate rush of nicotine in the blood stream, but which same deep breath, without the smoke, would be additionally relaxing.

We all know there are better ways of dealing with the stress. One simple and effective way is focusing on our breath. Focusing on our breath helps reduce stress because we are forcing more oxygen inside our lungs, physiologically helping our bodies manage stress, and changing our thoughts from what was bothering us before to calming rhythmic breaths.

In yoga we are taught to focus on our breath and bring your breath per your movements. Doing it will help bring our thoughts into the present, where we will be in control; no past, virtually no future. Yoga instructors also teach that meditation is a way of bringing your chakras in line and open up energy flow. Energy healing and chakras are generally huge subject all independently and you should do more research if you're interested.

This is difficult to learn, and for most visitors to even believe! But if you're a smoker here are some ways you can use the methods and teachings to create your breath into your control and help give up cigarettes.

Notice restrictions on your breath, this is a sign that you're getting stressed. When you find feeling short of breath discover a quiet place and lie flat on the back or in a comfortable position sitting. Begin just by closing your eyes and taking deep slow breaths. Focus on each breath. If other thoughts get your head don't get upset just neglected and go back to focusing on each breath. Listen for many years. Make sure they are generally long and slow, each inhale completely filling your lungs and each exhale taking just providing the inhale. Next notice when your stomach is moving using each breath. To completely fill your lungs you have got to move your diaphragm, the muscle inside chest that fills your lungs. Continue until you are feeling relaxed again.

Changing your breathing will vary your life because it will help you to regain control of your system in stressful situations, causing you to be more energetic and successful.
