Burning Man

aka Julian Beever, who achieves realism on the level of Trompe-l'œil using chalk on sidewalk, with frequently humorous effect, before photographing his temporary creation. Hoping that, at some point, he'll create something permanent at ground level, building on the work he has already done in this area.

This was the art theme from 2007, the same year as that oil rig explosion. Note the emphasis on ecological awareness.

Some felt that this made for a little irony, given the carbon footprint of events like that "oil rig explosion" you saw in the last video I bookmarked. Others would disagree, some of them for reasons which you'll see toward the bottom of the page.
