I walked into Mercer's office a few years ago as my wife and I were looking to sell one of our rental. The housing market was weak and had been for a long time we really needed to sell the home. Mercer London had been referred to us and she really took care of everything we needed. She presented herself very professionally. The real estate industry is a tricky business, it is hard to find someone that you can trust to look out for your best interest. I have found that many realtors do it on a part-time basis and those of the type of realtors and are generally breaking into the industry. Why have a property for sale I needed to sell fast. Mercer London is a realtor that I tried about a year ago. The other realtor was unable to get it sold which is why they are no longer working for me. It was an older home in the Northeast area of Portland near a bus line and mass transit. The home was structurally fine but the people that have lived there did not take care of it at all.
In our initial meeting Mercer took notes while I explained to her the business that I was in and the type price I was hoping to get for the home. In fact our first meeting didn't go very well and I was excited to see what she could do with the home. I have used to run into a number of realtors, in fact I have realtors approach me about selling my properties.
Mercer called me at the end of the second week and had two offers ready to approach it with! I was dumbfounded because the other realtor had gotten no offers and six months and had the property listed at a lower price! The offers were both extremely satisfactory. In fact, both offers came back at the listing price and I was able to choose from the different types of terms I wanted to start closing the banking issues.
There was one huge point that I forgot to bring up earlier. Once I learned about the multiple offers for the property in such a short period of time I decided to take a drive over to the house. As I approached it I noticed that someone had mowed the lawn and alone all the pine needles and leaves off both the roof and driveway. The gutters had been cleaned along with the downspouts to allow for a free flow of water from the roof into the gutters and throughout the drainage system. As I walked into the house I noticed it smelled fresh, fresh related smelled for 15 years. One of the bedroom walls had been repainted and it appeared that the carpets had been cleaned. All the light bulbs were working in bright in the house looked absolutely fantastic. This is something that Mercer arranged to have done or did all herself. Looking back, she knew how to present the house to get it sold she knew better than I knew. She certainly knew how to prepare a home better than that realtor I had prior to her! Mercer London is now my number one realtor when it comes to selling my properties.
