Get as much support as you can to help you stop smoking. the risks and dangers of smoking during pregnancy is the topic of this article.

Your baby doesn't have a say in whether or not you smoke, so you shouldn't do it.

Hundreds of chemicals are added to tobacco, including carbon monoxide and nicotine. The developing fetus gets all of its nourishment from the placenta including oxygen, that if you are smoking is contaminated with chemicals. The makers of cigarettes put hundreds of chemicals including formaldehyde into the tobacco for various reasons. You are not quite finished learning about how to avoid many pregnancy issues by switching to an e-cigarette and all that it means in your life. Rather than interject our own personal opinion on these matters, it is best to let you be the judge. It goes without saying that we have no real idea about how this is playing out for you, so we just try to present solid information. Having a wider perspective is to your advantage as well as an open mind. If you can achieve that, then that is good; but in the end you have to accomplish what you can. Since you know what you need about this, then be careful you do not waste time in other areas. At least until your knowledge is broader, try to determine what directly applies to you if possible.

Ectopic pregnancies make up a certain percentage of pregnancies every year. An ectopic pregnancy is when the embryo implants in the fallopian tube rather than in the uterus. Ectopic pregnancies can cause numerous complications. As you may imagine, already, women who smoke while pregnant have a significant risk of an ectopic pregnancy. The placenta can also be negatively impacted by smoking during pregnancy. These serious risks can affect the health of both the mother and the fetus.

There are negative effects on the unborn child when you smoke and are pregnant. The main culprit is the cigarette smoking, but that can be further broken down into more specific causes.

For example, nicotine is known to constrict blood vessels when it is present in the blood. Of course if it has that affect on you, it will do the same to your baby. When you blood vessels reduce blood flow your heart rate has to increase to compensate. By smoking during pregnancy you decrease blood oxygen to our baby's brain and cardiovascular system.

Smoking during pregnancy has serious effects that could potentially be fatal to your unborn child. While most known effects passed on to your baby are not fatal you need to remember that you are compromising the health of your baby. Very many of the body's organs and processes will be negatively affected, and there is evidence supporting that your child's future behavior may be adversely affected, as well.
