    Hello guys,

I hate to do that but I just deleted a couple of bookmarks that have nothing to do with ART. Of course everyone gets excited when they see/read/hear of something new and interesting and are desperately eager to share their discoveries with the world, BUT PLEASE, let us keep this little group as pure and simple as what I intended it to be from the very beginning, i.e., a place that you can discover and share related resources about ART. By the way, I am glad that our group attracts some new members. Welcome!! The best way (and a much better way than StumbleUpon) to share your bookmarks is through Diigo Toolbar, which you can download on this page http://www.diigo.com/tools.

I joined this group because I looked at your bookmarks Ian. I thought I was a little low brow because I lack formal education and I saw some great stuff.Today I took a break from work to make some post and come here and get something (education/inspiration).
That article on making your own logo while his heart is in the right place is bad information. A logo is a craft like anything else. There are a ton of good resources out there for logo design. The reason most people don't make a good logo is because they don't know how to make a logo. You don't assume that you are good at calligraphy because you are an artist. Then I get a wordpress logo. Is it that good of a logo?
I usually see wallpaper and think no way. I am not here for wallpaper. I think all wallpaper should go in a post like I made a post for tutorials. If you do post a wallpaper you better have a great reason and type that reason out. I found diigo looking for self education/design and fell in love with it. I think this is a great way to educate each other. If you want to post that kind of stuff join deviant art.
Ian I think you should let people join but not post so they can learn and don't feel pressured to contribute. Or have them post anime and manga, wallpaper, photoshopstuff, etc. up here where I know to avoid it.

    Ben
