In the "My groups" I've always found it annoying that those I administrate are mixed up with the others.

Seems logic to me that there should be a way to list them separately (I have so many!)

For now there's
Sort By: Last Active Time | Group Name
Filter: Active Groups | Archived Group

and I wish there was a 'Groups I administrate' - yuppi c

Hi!

In older diigo versions we have the "about" link near every bookmark but I didn't find it in this new version of diigo.

Has been removed for a particular reason?

Can't see it either... So I added it to Yubnub.

An other thing I miss is the "most bookmarked sites" on profile pages.
That section enabled me to quickly see if the person is doing self promotion or spamming - to find out if I should accept him/her in my group.

If you want to find a command to search, for example bing.com. enter: ls bing.com

The thing is, you have to remember each command ( that 'g' is for google... and all the others)

I don't understand many things, the older version has some problems and this new version has solved some of them but has created new problems and removed very usefull features.

I have a list of some features and interface changes that have gone to worst. I really don't understand what is the reason of this changes, if they are done consciusnes or perhaps a little lapsus.

Organisation/layout within Diigo Meta in Diigo 4.0 beta can become weird, for example

Cannot interact w "No-name" (username)

I have a request for joining one of my groups by a user named: "No-name "
URL name: "anonymous"
but when I click approve/disapprove - it does nothing.

Can't send a message either.

When creating an account, if you forget to input a name, you generally get an alert. So chances are, this person named himself "No-name / anonymous".

I understand that by choosing a user-name like that, your bound to get problems.

Maybe because I also have a member with the same name ??? o_0

... but still what can I do to interact with this person? - yuppi c

When cross-posting to Delicious, use a short link for "Annotated Link"

I know that Diigo can shorten annotated links. I suggest that when cross-posting to Delicious, the shortened link be exported into the Delicious description field, instead of the current long annotated link.

The way it is now, the link looks messy, and it's hard to read because of the URL encoding. In addition, since links aren't clickable in Delicious descriptions, a user will have to copy-and-paste the link text in order to open the annotated link page. This would be much easier if the link were shorter, and I think it would encourage more Delicious users to check out Diigo's features.

This is obviously not urgent, and I suggest it as a humble user and supporter of Diigo's activities. I think it's come up before in the forums, but a quick search did not turn it up.

I so very much wholeheartedly agree!!! Especially in the case of comments. If you only comment on a page, and you dont highlight or anything else, the interface is TOTALLY weird. If you open the annotated link that is automatically posted into the delicious description, it blinks for a second, and then it just goes directly to the original link of the bookmark. in this case, the annotated link is totally pointless and just messy looking.

I wish we had an option on whether to post the link at all in the delicious description. - Suzannah Porter

You mean like add a link ' Search this site'?
Technically it would be impossible for Diigo to index all the external sites (unless they create their own web indexing bot)
So that would mean add a 'Search this site' link that links to Google/Yahoo/Bing.
Like the external tools on the About | Diigo pages?

Thanks for the suggestions. I use the Google Toolbar to search the current site. What would be nice is to be able to search a bunch of related sites at the same time. You can do through various web sites. You have to set up a group of sites that you want to search i.e. create your own search enging e.g. http://www.google.com/cse/. I thought it would be a lot more convenient if you could somehow do it through Diigo. Oh well. - Andrew Hawkins

Firefox Remove Bookmark button text vanishes

Color of toolbar bookmark icon not changing

When I am on pages I have bookmarked, the icon color of the bookmarking icon used to change from white to red or pink. It no longer does. I use both Firefox 3.5.4 and Firefox Minefield 3.7a1pre. It doesn't change in either browser. I also have a StumbleUpon toolbar in the same row as the Diigo toolbar. Somewhere I read something about an "all in one toolbar" conflicting with Diigo and the buttons needing to be somewhere special. I took some away for aesthetic reasons and can screenshot it if that would help.

When I view a bookmark meta page, how can I know if I've already bookmarked that page?
I know this subject has been posted but I can't find the old post (can't narrow down search results after tags)
For a bookmarking tool, this is an important feature, so I'd like to know if it's in the to do list.
Is it ?

DOES NOT SHOW UP:
Just now I was looking at the meta page of Mockingbird
I know that service, I remember bookmarking it, so I wanted to check.
I searched 'Mockingbird' in my library and it didn't come up
So I clicked the community tab, and there it was!

So I re-bookmarked, it still didn't turn up under 'Mockingbird' search results in my library.
I finally managed to see it using tags.

How come it shows in community and not my library?

Diigo posts do not mirgrate to Delicious using YahooOpenID

The YahooOpenID works great to login to Diigo. However when I try to link my delicious account (which is using the YahooOpenID, then it is never able to "validate" and never takes the new bookmarks from Diigo to Delicious .

Customize bookmarking window?

Is it possible that we could customize what options show in the toolbar bookmarking window? While I understand the importance of the legibility and utility concerns, I almost never share to a group yet often would like to add to multiple lists directly from the bookmarking window. If users could choose to get rid of some saving options and have others present it would be a more personalized and useful tool.

I'm not sure I follow what you are saying. By step do you mean change pages or transition or what? Either way, I think a simple line (link option or whatever) that said "Add to multiple lists) and then, when clicked, made your lists appear in the same bookmarking window with tickboxes next to all of them would be most useful...

IMHO there's already too much in the bookmark dialogue
(e.g. http://groups.diigo.com/group/Diigo_HQ/content/958937, unresolved http://groups.diigo.com/group/Diigo_HQ/content/956828 and other topics) so the question is:

* if the per-user customisation is not in the bookmark dialogue
* then, where best to fit those customisations?

I imagine a server-side preference, set by the user (not a default) that allows a click on the Save button (within the bookmark dialogue) to step forward to a page that:

* focuses on the bookmark
* allows the user to do what they want with that bookmark
* has room for customisation.

In Diigo 4.0 beta: the only UI to a bookmark is Diigo Meta, so that page is a likely candidate.

Customising search in toolbar

I have toolbar 4.1.0.5 on Firefox 3.5.4. The customise search page shows my web search default preference to be Google UK (without Diigo). The actual search engines is 'Diigo+Google.com' both of which I emphatically do not want by default.

Did I maybe miss an instruction about this or is Diigo taking over my PC by stealth? Thanks in advance for any comments. - Fenman .
Diigo knows that Custom Search is broken and have put it in low priority and are even considering dropping it. It's one of the most useful features (the most IMHO) but they've never promoted it.
