Pros of OpenID are offered at http://openid.net/

If you do already have an OpenID, I should recommend using it.

When you use OpenID to join Diigo, the Diigo routine will require you to choose a Diigo user name (but not a password).

So, no additional passwords to remember. OpenID is our friend.

This is somewhat related: I just installed the Diigo app for the iPhone. I do not have a Diigo password since I signed up with an OpenID and that is how I authenticate on the web. Can I create a password? If not, how can I use the iPhone app?

In fact it's generally on the annotated link that I want to know most, and there not all show up.

In the "My groups" I've always found it annoying that those I administrate are mixed up with the others.

Seems logic to me that there should be a way to list them separately (I have so many!)

In older diigo versions we have the "about" link near every bookmark but I didn't find it in this new version of diigo.

Has been removed for a particular reason?

Can't see it either... So I added it to Yubnub.

An other thing I miss is the "most bookmarked sites" on profile pages.
That section enabled me to quickly see if the person is doing self promotion or spamming - to find out if I should accept him/her in my group.

I don't understand many things, the older version has some problems and this new version has solved some of them but has created new problems and removed very usefull features.

I have a list of some features and interface changes that have gone to worst. I really don't understand what is the reason of this changes, if they are done consciusnes or perhaps a little lapsus.

Cannot interact w "No-name" (username)

I have a request for joining one of my groups by a user named: "No-name "
URL name: "anonymous"
but when I click approve/disapprove - it does nothing.

Can't send a message either.

When creating an account, if you forget to input a name, you generally get an alert. So chances are, this person named himself "No-name / anonymous".

I understand that by choosing a user-name like that, your bound to get problems.

Maybe because I also have a member with the same name ??? o_0

When cross-posting to Delicious, use a short link for "Annotated Link"

I know that Diigo can shorten annotated links. I suggest that when cross-posting to Delicious, the shortened link be exported into the Delicious description field, instead of the current long annotated link.

The way it is now, the link looks messy, and it's hard to read because of the URL encoding. In addition, since links aren't clickable in Delicious descriptions, a user will have to copy-and-paste the link text in order to open the annotated link page. This would be much easier if the link were shorter, and I think it would encourage more Delicious users to check out Diigo's features.

This is obviously not urgent, and I suggest it as a humble user and supporter of Diigo's activities. I think it's come up before in the forums, but a quick search did not turn it up.

I so very much wholeheartedly agree!!! Especially in the case of comments. If you only comment on a page, and you dont highlight or anything else, the interface is TOTALLY weird. If you open the annotated link that is automatically posted into the delicious description, it blinks for a second, and then it just goes directly to the original link of the bookmark. in this case, the annotated link is totally pointless and just messy looking.

I wish we had an option on whether to post the link at all in the delicious description. - Suzannah Porter

Technically it would be impossible for Diigo to index all the external sites (unless they create their own web indexing bot)
So that would mean add a 'Search this site' link that links to Google/Yahoo/Bing.

Thanks for the suggestions. I use the Google Toolbar to search the current site. What would be nice is to be able to search a bunch of related sites at the same time. You can do through various web sites. You have to set up a group of sites that you want to search i.e. create your own search enging e.g. http://www.google.com/cse/. I thought it would be a lot more convenient if you could somehow do it through Diigo. Oh well. - Andrew Hawkins

"Hide Annotations" Bug In Toolbar

As of late, whenever I visit a URL that is previously bookmarked, the toolbar is not recognizing it as such. The option to remove it is not there, and to bookmark it means to re-tag it all the same. (I am currently doing housecleaning and thats how i noticed). It is for every single bookmark. Clicking "Refresh toolbar data" does not help.

The bookmarks remain listed under "my library". But the whole thing makes cleaning up impossible. Any thoughts?

Note: I have tried using the toolbar as the only firefox addon in a new profile without any other addons and I have the same problem. - Suzannah Porter
I FIGURED IT OUT!!

This is a big bug!!! Please respond when you get to this!!

Here's the problem.

If you have "Hide all annotations" selected, then it shuts off the toolbars ability to recognize ALL information about that bookmarked page. So when you visit the link, it doesnt even register that you ever bookmarked it before. When you click "bookmark", your previous description, title, private/public, read/unread, list, and group options as well as all your tags are gone. Its totally as if you are bookmarking for the first time.

Then if you switch back to "show annotations", you are able to see all your tags and description and groups and lists again.

i doubt thats what you meant by "hide annotations" when you designed it! - Suzannah Porter

Color of toolbar bookmark icon not changing

When I am on pages I have bookmarked, the icon color of the bookmarking icon used to change from white to red or pink. It no longer does. I use both Firefox 3.5.4 and Firefox Minefield 3.7a1pre. It doesn't change in either browser. I also have a StumbleUpon toolbar in the same row as the Diigo toolbar. Somewhere I read something about an "all in one toolbar" conflicting with Diigo and the buttons needing to be somewhere special. I took some away for aesthetic reasons and can screenshot it if that would help.
