View groups I administrate - 22 views

In the "My groups" I've always found it annoying that those I administrate are mixed up with the others.

Seems logic to me that there should be a way to list them separately (I have so many!)

    For now there's
Sort By: Last Active Time  | Group Name
Filter: Active Groups | Archived Group

and I wish there was a 'Groups I administrate'
  • yuppi c

    So quick! Thank you!
  • yuppi c

    ... and an other thing:

Could it be possible to have the highlighted '# Manage members - X Pending Request'
    on the my groups page?
Or at least when filter : Admin

Now I have to open each group page to see if there's anybody.
Or even better, get alerts when someone wants to join?

Why don't you try doing both?
The lists are quit nice for shearing a group of bookmarks: it enable to create a webslide, get it's own RSS feed, and set privacy (even if the bookmarks are public in your library)

I agree, the help pages are very poor - and most of all THERE'S NO LINK!
eg.: When it mentions the diigolet, -there's no link to go and get it !

Who ever is writing these pages, I feel as if the diigo staff are too busy.
I don't know what the financial state is, but maybe they should get more ppl?
    or make it collaborative?
    A wiki?
Would Diigo users collaborate to create a tips page?

    SEARCH IF BOOKMARKED :
When I view a bookmark meta page, how can I know if I've already bookmarked that page?
I know this subject has been posted but I can't find the old post (can't narrow down search results after tags)
For a bookmarking tool, this is an important feature, so I'd like to know if it's in the to do list.
    Is it ?

    DOES NOT SHOW UP:
Just now I was looking at the meta page of Mockingbird
I know that service, I remember bookmarking it, so I wanted to check.
I searched 'Mockingbird' in my library and it didn't come up
So I clicked the community tab, and there it was!

So I re-bookmarked, it still didn't turn up under 'Mockingbird' search results in my library.
I finally managed to see it using tags.

How come it shows in community and not my library?

You mean like add a link ' Search this site'?
Technically it would be impossible for Diigo to index all the external sites (unless they create their own web indexing bot)
So that would mean add a 'Search this site' link that links to Google/Yahoo/Bing.
Like the external tools on the About | Diigo pages?

You could use this Search this site bookmarklet after opening the link.

How to moderate when it's possible that a person's first post is a simple mistake? - 17 views

Agree, it is annoying not to be able to send a message to a group member.
I just delete the bookmark in the group without warning

I once banned someone who posted ~100 bookmarks of the wrong subject
I wrote and banned that person... turned out it was a mistake! :|
  • yuppi c

Also careful when accepting new members, I noticed some new users are hidden spammers.

When you check their profile, they generally don't have much bookmarks (looking closer, most seem to be copied bookmarks).
Once accepted in several groups, they start mass spamming.

    Yup!, I see them!
I had the opposite problem : I wanted to batch add a tag.
So in the tag editor I changed one tag to two tags, but they stayed stuck together as one tag.

This problem seem to have been resolved... hence your problem.

I feel as if I have quit a lot of old bookmarks missing, when I browse on old webpages that I must have bookmarked, diigolet dialog is empty.

I synchronize Diigo with delicious as backup, so to be sure I checked delicious... and it was there.
But then again, I used to use delicious so maybe it was from before...

So just to be sure, I'd advise you to also Save to delicious

And how can we see when browsing community bookmarks if I've already bookmarked one of them?
I'd really like to see 'edit' instead of 'save' in those cases (like delicious)

Is this in a 'todo' list?, because it's quit an important feature.

Agree - noticed the same problem and it is annoying.
Maybe it can be set in the general preferences?

As editing using the Diigolet updates the bookmarked time - it also gets re-submitted to the feed.
(I'm subscribed to my recent bookmarks - caus I often need to get back to stuff I've just added)
I generally edit tags using the Diigolet, that's where I see the content and know best which tags to use.

PS: line height is too small when writing here - it makes me want to add line breaks.

I have a request for joining one of my groups by a user named: "No-name "
    URL name: "anonymous"
but when I click approve/disapprove - it does nothing.

    Can't send a message either.

When creating an account, if you forget to input a name, you generally get an alert. So chances are, this person named himself "No-name / anonymous".

I understand that by choosing a user-name like that, your bound to get problems.

Maybe because I also have a member with the same name ??? o_0

... but still what can I do to interact with this person?

Can't see it either... So I added it to Yubnub.

An other thing I miss is the "most bookmarked sites" on profile pages.
That section enabled me to quickly see if the person is doing self promotion or spamming - to find out if I should accept him/her in my group.

    -------------------
    About Yubnub:

If you don't know about Yubnub, it worth checking it out.
Gains time and is my preferred search engine! Love it - such a smart idea! =D

There are several Diigo Yubnub commands http://yubnub.org/kernel/ls?args=diigo

To use, just add Yubnub open search - In Firefox just click in the searchbox menu Add "Yubnub search" http://yubnub.org/documentation/describe_installation
and when you want to see an about page:

enter: dabout URL (eg.: dabout http://google.com)

If you want to bookmark a page, enter: diiadd URL

    If want to search...

    Diigo, enter: diigo keyword

Your Diigo Library, enter: mydiigo keyword

    Google, enter: g keyword

    Yahoo, enter: y keyword

    Wikipedia, enter: wiki keyword

If you want to find a command to search, for example bing.com. enter: ls bing.com

    ...etc.

The thing is, you have to remember each command ( that 'g' is for google... and all the others)

How do I search for bookmarks with "tag1 OR tag2 OR tag3..."? - 149 views

Agrree w Trent Larson, group search needs more options. You can search for groups or in a group but can't search in several groups

g:(group1 group2) for group would be nice to have

    From http://www.diigo.com/search_mana/advanced
    Advanced Search Operators
You can use these search operators to perform advanced searches directly from the search box.

tag:word1 find bookmarks with word1 in tags
    word1 word2 find bookmarks with both word1 and word2
word1 OR word2 find bookmarks with either word1 or word2
    "word1 word2" find bookmarks with the phrase "word1 word2"
    word1 -word2 find bookmarks with word1, but not word2
word1* find bookmarks with words containing word1 as a prefix
tag:word1* find bookmarks with tags containing word1 as a prefix
tag:word1 -word2 find bookmarks with tag word1, but not word2 anywhere
tag:word1 tag:word2 find bookmarks with both tag word1 and tag word2
    tag:(word1 word2) same as above
tag:word1 -tag:word2 find bookmarks with tag word1, but not tag word2
tag:"word1 word2" find bookmarks with the phrase "word1 word2" in tags
title:word1 find bookmarks with word1 in title
desc:word1 find bookmarks with word1 in description
text:word1 find bookmarks with word1 in text
c:word1 find bookmarks with word1 in comments
h:word1 find bookmarks with word1 in highlights

    PS:
Talking about search, I think we can all delete Diigo's quick search bookmarks
