So I'm trying to follow some procedures that I found online and the highlighting tool has been invaluable! Thanks for that. But sometimes one kind of marker is not enough. It would be great having different kinds of markers like multiple-colored highlighting tools or custom markers (like asterisks or check-marks, etc) that could be placed in a fixed place on the web page (next to a word or an image).
"The introduction of markers that can not be moved will be problematic if, for example, the content of a page changes. "
I see. But wouldn't that restriction apply to highlighted text also? I mean, using a transparent highlight effect with a marker attached the the highlight marker (which in turn would be attached to the text) would do the trick. And it would work with the same code--just a different appearance.
The problem with the yellow speech bubbles is that they move. In the past, I've added a speech bubble and when I go back to that website, the bubble is not in the same position.
"private, group and public highlights" How does that work? My highlights are private by default but I don't know how to make them public. And when I try to add them to a group, nothing happens.
Thanks for the improvements BTW. I use Diigo all the time. I love it!
I've been having this problem ever since I installed the Diigo Toolbar. For some reason, sometimes the toolbar icons appear twice: the icons, multiple separators, the search field, etc. Restoring all my toolbars sometimes fixes the problem (uninstalling the Diigo toolbar doesn't). But after a while, the problems occurs again. It's getting really annoying.
I use the All-in-One Sidebar add-on (that creates an extra side toolbar) and I use some of the Diigo icons from that sidebar. But after reinstalling Diigo, the icons are no longer in the sidebar but the actual Diigo Toolbar is still showing the duplicate icons.
When I go to My Tags, my tags show the number of bookmarks but when I click on the link, there are no bookmarks at all, there's only a message that says:
no bookmarks tagged [name of the tag]
I keep a few filters in my Diigo toolbar, so logically many of them show up as empty. Is this a temporal glitch?
Maybe not ever (and I know that 'awesomest' is not a word) but I have to say that Diigo keeps blowing my mind everyday. I'm a compulsive multi-tasker and I use Firefox as much as I can to make my work as productive as I can. I had installed Diigo a long time ago without using it because I knew it could be useful but I didn't have the time to learn how to use it or to set-it up. But now, I use Diigo everyday and it keeps making my job so much easier. For weeks I've been trying to find a work-around for something that Firefox couldn't do, and I just realized that I can do it with the Diigo toolbar. I'm not a big fan having a lot of Toolbars but sometimes it's really worth it.
Thank you and Great job! to the developers!!!!!
PS. Is there a way to add a button that can show/hide the Diigo Toolbar manually without having to go to View>Toolbars...?
I reinstalled Firefox and now the icon doesn't change its color when I add a bookmark or tag. My settings are the same I think. I'm talking about the icon to add a bookmark.
No error, the websites are added just fine (I checked), and the error message is not displayed (I've seen it before). I can even delete them with the 'Remove this bookmark' option. It was working fine in another installation but after I formatted my computer and installed the diigo addon again, the icon is not changing colors.
I think the problem might be related to the All in One Sidebar, which I use. So I'll copy my post from that forum right below this one. The answer to your question is also in that post, that's why I'm copying it. But I did use the Default theme and ONLY the Diigo and All in One Sidebar addons but nothing changed. I don't know if this important but the equivalent button I mention is just the equivalent, maybe that's the problem. But the thing is that it was working before I reinstalled my system, and I had the same addons, so I have no idea what might be the problem. Thanks for trying to help by the way.
------------------- "Hello I use an extension called Diigo (online bookmarking extension) which uses a separate toolbar, but the buttons can also be dragged to the AiOS toolbar. One of the buttons is dynamic, it's the 'Add bookmark'; when it's clicked on (from the AiOS toolbar), the website is bookmarked and the icon turns red. After reinstalling FF with all its extensions, to a new system, the button no longer changes color. I checked the Diigo Toolbar, and its equivalent button does change. I also made sure it's not a theme issue, I was using Nautipolis before (when it was working). I'm using LittleFox (by the same author, the theme is basically the same but smaller) now, but I tried with the 3 themes, including the default, but the button never changes.
I don't know if there's an AiOS I'm overlooking, but I can't find anything. Any ideas? Thanks.
PS2. I forgot to say that I disabled all the extensions except for AiOS and Diigo but that didn't change anything."
