print snapshot webslides suggestion

What I want to be able to do is to save the diigo activity on a page at a given time. In this way I hope to be able set students an assignment involving diigo and then see what they have done at a given time. So that my snapshot is saved somewhere (on my PC perhaps) and will not be affected by subsequent annotations on the same url.

I know that I should be able to do this with webslides - but as other forum users say, webslides are not available to private groups and for obvious reasons with student work it is appropriate to keep it confidential.

Is there a way to save the page with the annotations in place?

This is an interesting thought, though not sure how many people will really have this snapshot need. We'll discuss it here.

Not exactly an "snapshot" at a given time, but you can make use of the "View Annotations" to filter and see only your own. http://www.diigo.com/help/stickynote/3

In the upcoming release, there is a super easy way to view your / all / group annotations on a page at a glance. So, stay tuned.

In Diigo 4.0 beta, the combination of Diigo Meta + snapshots (you can switch easily between the two pages) may be a step in the right direction.

    > freeze frame of diigo activity on a page

Subject Mixtures of cached + live content (within a broader topic How do snapshots get saved?) draws attention to the mixtures that sometimes occur.

If you require a perfect freeze frame of a page, then in your snapshots of a bookmarked page you should tend towards the PNG version (accepting that the 'frozen' HTML may be mixed with something that's live).

If you require a perfect freeze frame of the Diigo enrichment of that page at a point in the past, then in the meta view you should tend towards the Bookmarking history tab in the lower part of the window.

Hint: depending on the route to meta, you may be steered to the Public comments tab. To focus instead on the history side of that frame, consider the tail of the URL. Examples:

    http://www.diigo.com/bookmark/http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brookes.ac.uk%2F?tab=comment

    http://www.diigo.com/bookmark/http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brookes.ac.uk%2F?tab=people&uname=module_leader
