For almost a week Diigo is not working properly.

I was really thrilled by diigo's features and wanted to recommend it to my friends, especially the comment and group features. But after just a very short period the problems started and are still not resolved.

the basic tag and bookmark feature does not work, a feature that works like a charm with delicious. i can't access my bookmarks through my new diigo tags, my imported delicious tags still do not show up etc. At the moment i did not even bother to try the other features. I am glad that i only mentioned diigo to my friends and did not recommend it or even installed it at my friends computers. At least my diigo tags were imported into delicious.

I am sure that you, the devs, are really working hard to fix all issues and i am really thankful that you offer this as a free service but it does not work and so it is of no value for me at the moment.

I guess i will move back to delicious if the problems are not resolved within the next days.

    Hi Martin,
I am so sorry for the problem. The server is reindexing tags and it takes longer than we expected, but the problem will be solved in the next few days.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Joel,

I think you should announce the status of any maintenance and/or major issue in the dashboard. Also list the possible symptoms that user may encounter.

This will help people understand what's going on so they don't need to come here to look for answers.

    Just a suggestion!

    +1

I would not limit the announcement to dashboard.

A small but prominent status indicator could suffice, http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/announcements-services-unavailable-or-at-risk-scheduled-and-unscheduled-41901 draws attention to an example that uses simple green, amber and red indicators.

A small/brief service status indicator/announcement should link to a blog listing symptoms etc.

Latest status: Bookmarks before 2009-04-11 are retrievable through tags now.

Thanks for the good news Joel. (I might guess that the other indices will lag behind tags.)

The problem was solved. All bookmarks can be retrieved though tags.

    Solution confirmed.

http://www.diigo.com/user/grahamperrin/44763 found the related bookmark seconds after creation.

    Thanks to Joel and colleagues.

    Thank you all,
i hope you can resolve all the remaining quirks soon (e.g. bracketed bookmark count in tag cloud does not show real bookmark count, during adding a tag to a bookmark not all existing and fitting tags are auto-suggested in a dropdown while typing the new tag, etc.)

I recall a separate topic, maybe not recent, for that issue.

    That is probably http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/imported-tags-do-not-show-up-while-adding-tags-44058
