This is a great potential fundraiser site for yourself or your local non-profit. Say, a HS band/team/church wants to raise cash? Sign up to receive advert texts (must be 13yo) from 5¢ to $1 each. Every $25 raised, you get a check cut for yourself! You can donate the cash to your organization, OR to your own bank!! This is AWESOME if you have an unlimited texting plan, and great even if you don't! Use KGTC for your invite code!

If you're looking for ways to raise money for your PTA, just got this in from the national USA PTA - a way to make 10% for those of you who have access to jamba juice this might be a good deal. Let students create a virtual walker.

Join in the virtual walk for breast cancer - you can design your walker (male or female) and pay $5 to register your walk. The founder of this organization lost her battle to breast cancer this week. I"ve created a team called edubloggers -- please join me and walk with the edublogger team. This is another example of how virtual fundraising and events can make a difference. I hope the organization reaches its goal in Dorit's honor.

If you have no idea what network-centric grantmaking is and you write grants or work with fundraising - this blog post is an important read for you. (Buy Beth's book - the networked nonprofit - it is great.) Themes as per Beth: These themes include: 1. Listening to and consulting the crowds: Actively listening to online conversations and openly asking for advice. 2. Designing for serendipity: Creating environments, in person and online, where helpful connections can form. 3. Bridging differences: Deliberately connecting people with different perspectives. 4. Catalyzing mutual support: Helping people directly help each other. 5. Providing handrails for collective action: Giving enough direction for individuals to take effective and coordinated action.
