IT's incredibly frustrating trying to find decent software that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Does anyone have experience with a good quality app. for creating and modifying HTML web albums? I know of a few contenders such as JAlbum (http://jalbum.net/), iWebAlbum (http://eunq.com/) and Web Album Generator (http://www.ornj.net/webalbum/) but I'm tired of downloading, testing and tossing. Can anyone help narrow this down? I've tried ACDsee in the past and liked it, but I'd rather not purchase yet another piece of software for this limited functionality requirement.
I've used the web gallery builders that come with other programs, like Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom. I've seen a couple of others, but I've not played with any very thoroughly. I'm not going to be much help, I don't think.
Otherwise, I've hand rolled my own. I've heard of JAlbum though I've not used it. I haven't really bothered with my own web albums since I got Flickr, because I can use Flickr tags or sets to feed specific pictures into a slide show. I've also used PhotoStory 3 to turn photos into a slide show video.
Thanks for the input Amanda. If I could afford it, I'd simply outfit myself with all the latest from Adobe. As it is, I wind up having to use less refined tools. I've built albums from scratch, coding the HTML by hand but it can get monotonous.
I thought that I'd update my electronic resume with the edition of a photographic portfolio, hence the interest in this software.
