UnderTheMicroscope is a new website of the Feminist Press NSF Women Writing Science project developed by IBM. UnderTheMicroscope collects stories from women involved in science, interested in science, and those who are maintaining or pursuing science in science fields. The most interesting stories will be compiled and published as a survival guide.

Science News for Kids is a web site devoted to science news for children of ages 9 to 14. Our goal is to offer timely items of interest to kids, accompanied by suggestions for hands-on activities, books, articles, Web resources, and other useful materials. Our emphasis is on making the Web site appealing by offering kids opportunities to comment on and grade the subject matter, get ideas for science projects, and try out mathematical puzzles. At the same time, we offer teachers creative ways of using science news in their classrooms.

Succeeding With Science is a a great resource for games, videos, and other activities for teaching and learning science. Succeeding With Science is organized by age. Within each age range there is a selection of games and activities for students to use on his or her own. You'll find that quite a few of the activities are suitable for use on touchscreen computers and interactive whiteboards.

Understanding Alcohol: Investigations into Biology and Behavior-developed with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)-is a creative, inquiry-based instruction program designed to promote active learning and stimulate student interest in medical topics. This curriculum supplement aims to help students develop the following major goals associated with scientific literacy: to experience the process of scientific inquiry and develop an enhanced understanding of the nature and methods of science; andto appreciate the role of science in society and the relationship between basic science and human health.

These folks promote a "computer-free" computer science curriculum. Agree or disagree, this is probably useful to keep for times whenever the network gives up the ghost. "Each Unplugged activity is available to download in PDF format, with full instructions and worksheets. Background sections explain the significance of each activity to computer science, and answers are provided for all problems. All you need for most of these activities are curiousity and enthusiasm. There are photos and videos showing some of the activities in action, and we've collected links to other useful resources. The activities are primarily aimed at the five to twelve year-old age group, but they are by no means restricted to this age range: we've used them to teach older children and adults too, with little modification."

The Computer Science Teachers Association is a membership organization that supports and promotes the teaching of computer science and other computing disciplines. CSTA provides opportunities for K-12 teachers and students to better understand the computing disciplines and to more successfully prepare themselves to teach and learn.

CS Unplugged is a collection of free learning activities that teach Computer Science through engaging games and puzzles that use cards, string, crayons and lots of running around. The activities introduce students to underlying concepts such as binary numbers, algorithms and data compression, separated from the distractions and technical details we usually see with computers. CS Unplugged is suitable for people of all ages, from elementary school to seniors, and from many countries and backgrounds. Unplugged has been used around the world for over fifteen years, in classrooms, science centers, homes, and even for holiday events in a park!

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), created this Web site to educate adolescents ages 11 through 15 (as well as their parents and teachers) on the science behind drug abuse. NIDA enlisted the help of teens in developing the site to ensure that the content addresses appropriate questions and timely concerns. Recognizing that teens want to be treated as equals, NIDA scientists were careful not to preach about the dangers of drug use. Rather, the site delivers science-based facts about how drugs affect the brain and body so that kids will be armed with better information to make healthy decisions. Elements such as animated illustrations, quizzes, and games are used throughout the site to clarify concepts, test the visitor's knowledge, and make learning fun through interaction.

Access animations on Meteorology and Climatology. Categories of resources include all of the sciences, math, history, and electronics. The site is from Belgium, but the resources so far are all English language.

The goal of the Exploratorium Digital Library is to provide access to high-quality teaching resources and learning activities that reflect the museum's foundation of playful exhibit-based inquiry in science, art, and human perception. The Learning Resources Collection includes teaching tips and related resources. This collection is suitable for educators in both classroom and out-of-school settings; for peer institutions, such as museums, science centers, and universities; and for individuals.
