Pregnancy Due date calculator - 0 views

  •
Pregnancy Due date calculator can be amazingly precise. The maternity usually continues 266 times. It is believed that enough time from the last interval to the day on which you designed is a couple weeks. These computations can help you find out your due time frame, and the system is easy. You only have to add 280 times to enough time frames on which you had your last interval to determine your approximated time frame of distribution. But even though you do the analysis, your physician will have the last term on verifying the due time frame.

Introducing Programming to Preschoolers - 2 views

  •
Since MIT's Lifelong Kindergarten group released Scratch in 2007, kids ages 8 to 13 have built more than 2.2 million animations, games, music, videos and stories using the kid-friendly programming language. Scratch allows kids to snap together graphical blocks of instructions, like Lego bricks, to control sprites-the movable objects that perform actions. Sprites can dance, sing, run and talk. Now, with a grant from the National Foundation of Science, Lifelong Kindergarten is collaborating with Tufts University's DevTech Research Group to make Scratch Jr, a new version aimed at kids in preschool to second grade. The expected launch date is summer 2012.

The only problem with it is that it seems to require an email address. Maybe someone can contact them to find out how schools can use this without that. Or, the teacher can create a generic account that the students can use. Maybe? (This was on the Clif Notes list)

The Learning Page-Getting Started: Link & Bookmark - 0 views

  •
A search in the American Memory collections yields web pages which are assembled "on the fly" in response to your particular request. Frequently, "/temp/" appears as part of the URL shown in the Address/Location window of the page. This is frustrating for users who carefully bookmark their "finds" because a temporary page cannot be called up at a later date. With just a bit more work, however, you CAN get a permanent URL through the process outlined below.

Future Me is a neat service that lets you write an email to your future self and have it delivered to your email inbox at a time that you schedule. It's easy to use Future Me. To use Future Me just type your email, select the date you want it to be delivered on, and then enter your email address. You can choose to keep your letter private (default setting) or make your letter public (anonymously) and placed in the gallery of letters. Applications for Education It would be great to have students use Future Me at the beginning of a school year. Students could write about what they hope to learn that year, what they do or don't like about school, and goals that they have for themselves. Then at the end of the school year students can read their letters and see how they've changed over the year.
