EBird is a site (www.ebird.org) where anyone can enter their bird sightings to a database that is maintained by Cornell University's Ornithology department. It is relatively easy to use, and has many useful features for birding enthusiasts. For the user, its major attraction is that you can maintain a record of your sightings for free while contributing to the study and conservation of birds.
