We can assist you. Just drop us an email and advise the group name (we'll verify whether you're the group owner, etc...)

    Dear base007, dear Maggie:

    What about the following suggestion:

Before group owners delete "their" group, there should be at least

    an announcement in a

    Diigo Group Management Forum

in which the "owners" declare that they want to retreat from the admin role and are offering this role to some peer of their group or to the wider community.

    Reason:

Many peers may have put their work into the group and get frustrated, if their work is killed.
Besides that, in some cases, especially if there are many constructive contributions, it would be a destructive act to the whole social annotating community.

    fridemar,

thanks for the suggestion. Any example of other popular groups (such as google / yahoo groups, etc.) handle such a process?

I suppose we could form another separate public group. However, I'd imagine what you're describing rarely happen.
